I have been licensed as a Psychologist in Oregon, Texas and Wisconsin. I have worked in a variety of settings, including university professor, community mental health centers, residential settings, federally qualified health centers, private medical clinic, and private psychology practices, and currently am in a integrated psychology-medicine private telehealth (online) practice utilizing HIPPA compliant videoconferencing, telephone, and email. I am married to a physician who is my best friend, and have two adult children. I work with my clients as partners, with them knowing the most about themselves and what they want from their life, and me providing emotional support and helping them to develop a better knowledge of themselves and to learn the ways of thinking and feeling, as well as specific skills, that will lead to a happier and more peaceful life. I help my clients to realize that they have the power to change, no matter how traumatic their past or how difficult their present life circumstances. I fell in love with psychology at age 19 and have loved the work I do ever since. Spirituality is important to me, but I only include it in my work if this is also important to my clients. I was born in Virginia, grew up in Louisiana, and have lived as an adult in Texas, Oregon, and Wisconsin, primarily in Texas, where I currently reside. i enjoy the outdoors and currently live on a 10 acre farm which also serves as a sanctuary for birds and other wildlife, and one in which numerous plants and trees are being added to the environment.
