Franne Sippel, EdD is a Licensed Psychologist and Partner at Northern Plains Psychological Associates in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She has provided counseling services to clients for twenty five years.
Sippel specializes in working with cancer and LGBTQ clients, as well as with children and adolescents, but accepts people of all ages. She belongs to the National Association of Certified Mediators, conducts state disability evaluations, and is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Her own experience being targeted as a mandated child abuse reporter led to her research on the subject with subsequent articles published in The Chronicle of Social Change ("Existing Protections Fall Short for Mandated Child Abuse Reporters" and "Mandated Reporters: Protection Does Not Weaken Accountability"), Social Work Today ("Retaliation Toward Child Abuse Reporters") and the Indianapolis Star ("Protect child abuse reporters from liability").
Sippel is currently working with two professors at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota to expand the June 2013 study: Report To Congress On Immunity From Prosecution For Professional Consultation In Suspected And Known Instances Of Child Abuse And Neglect.
