Very early on, Dr. Friedman's career path was known to her. She had numerous entries in her high school year book which stated "You are going to make a great psychologist". Dr Friedman has been been a licensed psychologist since 1991. She completed her Pre-doctoral internship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and received her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University in 1989. The majority of her career has been in private practice but other professional experiences have also included seeing students for treatment at the UCF Counseling Center, teaching graduate level group psychotherapy courses at UCF, and seeing patients and conducting psychological assessments at the University Behavioral Center in Orlando. She has been in private practice since 1994. She also works with a number of fertility centers and surrogacy agencies conducting evaluations and providing support for patients dealing with infertility concerns. Dr Friedman had been married for 25 years until her husband passed away in 2015. She and her husband have a 28 year old daughter who lives in New York City and works at a public relations firm.
