I am a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of clinical practice and scientific research. I am nationally recognized for my work in this field. I am an Associate Professor at Columbia University Medical Center, and am a former supervisor of psychologists and psychiatric residents. My work with patients emphasizes the importance of a clear, empathetic understanding of the problems that bring each patient into treatment. I am fully fluent in English and in Hebrew.
I help individuals to cope with life's challenges, changes and transitions, whether they are struggling with addiction, adjustments to environmental or cultural demands, managing a life/work balance, or dealing with complexities of relationships. My therapy work is guided by research and use of evidence-based yet practical approaches. I have published over 70 papers on patients with depression, substance abuse and a variety of life and medical problems; some of the papers have been highly influential and were cited over 100 times.
I work collaboratively and respectfully with my patients, tailoring treatment to their specific needs and helping them successfully achieve their goals in life.
I specialize in individual and couple therapy. I have lectured on techniques to modify data-driven treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy. I presented my work at national and international conferences, including at the American Psychological Association. I combine my extensive knowledge about psychotherapy with my compassionate nature to provide comprehensive therapy to a wide variety of patients.
