A graduate of Clark University, Dr. Newman received her M.S. in clinical psychology from the University of Florida and her Ph.D. in child clinical psychology from the State University of New Jersey at Rutgers. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Newman has been a Psychologist at the Westchester Institute for Human Development/Westchester County Medical Center and an Instructor at New York Medical College. She also served as a Behavioral Consultant at St. John's Hospital. Dr. Newman was Co-Principal Investigator on a three-year federally funded research grant investigating decision-making in child welfare programs. Dr. Newman has developed several parenting curricula and a tool for assessing normal child development. She has published in the area of child temperament and moderating variables and has led workshops in enhancing parenting skills and understanding child development. Along with Dr. Grace Kalfus, Dr. Newman opened Child Behavior Therapy Associates, LLP in 1994. Child Behavior Therapy Associates, LLP was developed to help children and families cope with normal developmental concerns as well as to provide assessment and intervention services for clinically significant problems. Child Behavior Therapy Associates, LLP provides Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavior Therapy and Applied Behavior Analysis, Parenting Skills Training, Psychological Testing, and Consultation. At present, Child Behavior Therapy Associates, LLP is providing telehealth services.
