Specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents and their parents, I have almost 40 years of experience treating clients with a wide range of disorders. I began my career working at Children's Memorial Hospital, now Lurie Children's Hospital, where I worked with children with behavioral and emotional disorders and medical illnesses. Simultaneously, I developed my private practice, continuing my work with children and families and also treating adults struggling with family issues, parenting, self-esteem and life adjustments. I have expertise in treating children with elimination disorders and anxiety disorders and have received BTTI training for OCD. I bring my experience as a pediatric psychologist and as a parent to empathically work with families of different races and cultures. Having a child who is a cancer survivor has also given me additional first-hand knowledge of the struggles sick children face and also the stresses families experience dealing with life-threatening and chronic illnesses. My treatment is evidence-based and draws from modalities most appropriate for the individual client. I also am on the faculty of Northwestern University Medical School. During the COVID crisis, I am working with my clients using telepsychology.
