Diane DePalma, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist, has been practicing psychotherapy for 30+ years. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rochester in New York, and trained for an additional two years as a postdoctoral fellow in adult clinical psychology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Dr. DePalma joined the George Washington University in 1980, serving as Director of the University Counseling Center from 1985 to 2008. She served as a Clinical Professor of Psychology while at GW. Her work focused primarily on developing and providing a broad range of clinical and educational programs to help young adults reach their full academic and personal potential.
Throughout her career, Dr. DePalma has published articles and presented papers at professional conferences on both mental health topics and those related to professional leadership and management. She has been a highly respected mentor and trainer of new psychologists, postdoctoral fellows and doctoral interns. She continues to work with college counseling centers locally and to provide consultation for colleagues from across the nation.
