Dr. Derek Ream is a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist, and, Owner and CEO of Sugar Land Psychological Associates. He is licensed as a psychologist in the states of Ohio and Texas, and holds the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology certification via the PSYPACT Commission that allows him to practice tele-psychology across 30+ PSYPACT-participating states. Dr. Ream’s professional practice centers around psychological and forensic psychological assessments, neuropsychological screening, and, psychotherapy addressing substance use, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, sleep, trauma, professional burn out, rehabilitation of neuropsychological syndromes, and, problematic marital and couples dynamics. In addition to his roles with Sugar Land Psychological Associates, Dr. Ream is an Assistant Professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine, is a Clinical Psychologist within the Substance Disorders Treatment Program at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and is a Contract Forensic Psychologist with Psychological Dimensions, LLC. Previously, Dr. Ream was a Clinical Psychologist at the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center, a Contract Forensic Psychologist with Forum Ohio, LLC, and was an Adjunct Professor at Clark State College in Ohio. Dr. Ream has published several book chapters and journal abstracts within the realm(s) of cognitive science/psychology, neuropsychology, and rehabilitation psychology. Outside of his clinical and research duties, Dr. Ream serves on the Clinical Psychopharmacology Committees with both the Ohio Psychological Association and the American Academy of Clinical Psychology, and, serves as a conference peer-reviewer for the American Psychology-Law Society.
