During more than 40 years as a psychologist, I have been generously "trained" by hundreds of individuals, families, couples, children and adolescents seen in my practice. These experiences have taught me to approach treatment holistically, giving equal attention to the psychological, biological, social and spiritual aspects of life. While respecting the importance of scientifically validated therapeutic techniques, I also appreciate the fundamental role of the therapeutic relationship - a relationship grounded in trust, respect, compassion, and (hopefully) wisdom borne of experience. In addition to providing psychotherapy to diverse people with often complex concerns, I also enjoy, am fascinated by, diagnostic assessment. While this work often relies heavily on psychological testing, it also is grounded in my experiences as a psychotherapist, and in my respect for the holistic complexity of human behavior.
