Hi, I am dedicated to great psychotherapy, researching how it works and teaching psychologists-in-training these skills. It's such an honor to do therapy: to assist adults in transition, including loss, body image, relationship and anxiety issues. All my sessions are remote, though we can meet in-person for your first session, if you wish. I believe that matching treatment to your personality and current needs is the most effective way to work together, so I use Integrative Psychotherapy. This means I call utilize various therapies. What remains a constant is the strength of our relationship. That's strict confidentiality and good boundaries but it's also humor and guts and warmth and respect and openness to learning (both of us.) The relationship could not be more vital. When someone expresses interest in therapy, we always begin with a free Initial Phone Consultation. This gives us both an opportunity to listen for whether we'd be the right fit. I will listen for whether I have the expertise and availability to be truly helpful. You will listen for whether I "get" you, whether I think and speak in a way that jibes with your values. At the end of the conversation, we'll decide whether we'd like to schedule a real appointment. My co-therapist is a shy French Bulldog named Babette. If we meet at my office that first time, it is very private: it's in a townhome, with no shared waiting area. I believe you'd be fully at ease. Even with video sessions, Babette has a presence. Psychotherapy sessions are $220. Though I'm out-of-network with insurance, they reimburse patients who see me. (That amount varies by your policy,) All my clients receive a special receipt that contains all the insurance codes you would need. If you're interested in working together, please visit my website (tons of info there) and consider emailing me for an Initial Phone Consult. I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes! Dana Falk, Ph.D. (and Babette)
