Hi, I am dedicated to providing psychotherapy, researching how it works and teaching psychologists-in-training these skills. It's an honor to assist adults in transition, including loss, body image, relationship and anxiety issues. I believe that matching treatment to the client's personality and current needs is the most effective way to work together, so I use Integrative Psychotherapy. This means that I call upon various therapies, matching them to you. What remains a constant, always, is the strength of our relationship. That's not simply strict confidentiality and good boundaries; it's also humor and guts and warmth and respect and openness to learning (both of us.) Now, with tele-therapy, the therapy relationship could not be more vital. When someone expresses interest in therapy, we always begin with a free Initial Phone Consultation. This gives us both an opportunity to listen for whether we'd be the right fit. I will listen for whether I have the expertise and availability to be truly helpful. You will listen for whether I "get" you, whether I think and speak in a way that jibes with your values. At the end of the conversation, we'll decide whether we'd like to schedule a real appointment. Currently all sessions are by video or phone, but when I'm in my office, my co-therapist is a shy French Bulldog named Babette. My office is very private: it's in a townhome, not an office building, with no shared waiting. area. I hope you'll be fully at ease. Though I'm out-of-network with most insurance companies, they do reimburse patients who see me. That amount varies by your policy, but ballpark, you'd probably pay about $40 more to see me than to see someone on your insurance list. All clients receive a special receipt that contains all the insurance codes; they submit this online. If interested in working together, please visit my website and consider emailing for an Initial Phone Consult. Best wishes! Dana Falk, Ph.D. (and Babette)
