As a licensed psychologist, I am committed to helping children and families overcome challenges and live a life more in line with their values. My main goal is to identify what is most important to you and help you achieve it. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work in many different settings including schools, primary care centers, hospitals, and many medical specialty clinics. I have experience addressing a variety of concerns including behavior difficulties, depression, anxiety, parenting, stress, and coping with chronic illness. I have worked with children with different medical conditions including cancer, blood disorders, cystic fibrosis, HIV/AIDS, and diabetes, among others. My career has allowed me to co-author many articles and book chapters on mental health and quality of life related to living with a medical condition. I am a Certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapist (PCIT) and am pursuing my Level 1 trainer certification to be able to train other therapists in PCIT. I have received extensive training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My approach to therapy is always a collaborative discussion between everyone involved. Although I am an expert in many types of therapy, you are the expert on yourself, your child, and your family. I place a high value on moving through therapy in a supportive and mutual manner.
