I am a licensed clinical psychologist with almost thirty years of experience, training, and expertise in working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of clinical settings. I graduated from Wesleyan University and completed my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford. I am currently in private practice in Guilford, CT and am the founder and owner of Shoreline Mental Health Services for Children, LLC. where I work with individuals of all ages. Prior to working in the private sector, my career was in academia. I completed a post doctoral fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and then stayed on as faculty where, among other responsibilities, I conducted clinical research and provided clinical supervision for interns and residents. After leaving full-time, I worked there part-time for several years as an Assistant Clinical Professor continuing to do supervision. Particular areas of interest and expertise for me include working with individuals who have difficulties with depression and anxiety, acute and chronic stress, behavioral challenges, social and interpersonal challenges, children’s problems, and parenting issues. While providing a safe and compassionate space, I partner with individuals on their unique journey to identify the challenges in their lives, learn more effective ways of coping, and move forward toward realizing their goals. I strongly believe in the importance of accepting people exactly the way they are now while concurrently encouraging them to explore and practice different, more effective, and successful ways of living. I believe that individuals have the capacity to use their unique talents and strengths to overcome myriad obstacles and, with support, are able to live their lives to the fullest. I love my work because I see that the changes people make through therapy transform them and make positive and lasting differences in their lives.
