I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in 2012 from Washington State University (Pullman, WA) and am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, and Idaho. I previously worked in hospital-based behavioral health settings at St. Luke’s Clinic Behavioral Health Services (Twin Falls, ID) and Portneuf Medical Center (Pocatello, ID), where I was part of multidisciplinary outpatient teams providing integrated psychological care, including individual and group therapy, psychiatric consultation, and treatment planning.
In my private practice, I work with young adults and adults presenting with concerns such as mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, chronic pain and headache disorders, sleep difficulties, eating disorders (including anorexia and bulimia), brain injury, and memory or cognitive concerns. I have particular experience in behavioral and psychological approaches to pain management and health-related conditions. I also routinely conduct comprehensive psychological and brief neuropsychological evaluations to support diagnostic clarification and treatment planning, using standardized psychological and neuropsychological instruments, IQ testing, personality measures, self-report scales, behavioral observations, and in-depth clinical interviews. I additionally conduct pre-surgical psychological evaluations, including for bariatric surgery and spinal cord stimulator placement.
I am actively involved in the field of clinical hypnosis and mind–body approaches. I am President of the Society of Psychological Hypnosis (Division 30 of the American Psychological Association), was previously Co-Editor of FOCUS (a publication of the Society of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis), and Managing Editor of the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. I have published over 17 peer-reviewed journal articles, presented research nationally and internationally, and co-led clinical hypnosis workshops worldwide.
