Hello, my name is Dr. Christopher Johnson. I provide clinical treatment through my practice, Sound Mind Psychology LLC. Before opening my practice I spent years working with individuals in college counseling settings, and a hospital outpatient unit. I enjoy working with clients who struggle with a variety of mental health and/or social issues. I have specialized in the treatment of adults, and have years of experience working with young adults in particular. I value the opportunity to meet with people who seek greater purpose and meaning in their lives, or who are making their way through challenging life transitions. I frequently encourage my clients to explore the variety of factors impacting their present life, beyond possible mental health symptoms they may be experiencing. I provide integrative treatment, and utilize a variety of treatment methods as I seek to assist clients in finding the style of care that works best for them. In this way I am person-centered, recognizing that health/ healing occurs in a variety of forms, and that treatment must appropriately match the individual. I often provide psycho-education throughout the treatment process, and I find that this information can lead to new insights and understandings of client problems. I also enjoy talking about matters of faith/ spirituality when they are relevant to what clients are going through, and I understand how these aspects of human life can impact thinking in significant ways. If you are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, or other forms of psychological pain, please feel free to contact me. I am happy to provide free initial consults by phone to determine if ongoing treatment would be helpful for you. If it doesn't seem like I have the expertise you might need, I would be glad to provide you with the names of other clinicians who might assist you.
