Dr. Christina Maxwell is a clinical psychologist licensed in the states of Indiana and Ohio. She is a graduate of The University of Indianapolis (APA accredited). She completed her APA approved doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency at the Bay Pines VA Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL where she had the honor of working extensively with Veterans (both men and women) struggling with PTSD due to combat trauma and/or military sexual trauma. Dr. Maxwell has over 10 years of experience working with individuals struggling with issues including, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, identity issues, and life transitions. Dr. Maxwell is trained in the utilization of several evidenced-based treatments including Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. However, she is a firm believer that treatment is not a, “one size fits all,” endeavor and works with clients to identify their own unique goals for therapy, to access and use their individual strengths, and to navigate any challenges that might be getting in their way. Dr. Maxwell believes a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, mutual respect, and collaboration is the foundation of good therapy. She works to provide a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for clients to share their experiences and to explore options for growth. In her free time, Dr. Maxwell enjoys reading, spending time in the outdoors, reading, binge watching Netflix, and spending time with loved ones.
