Christian Davis is a licensed clinical psychologist in NY and NJ. He delivers cognitive-behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior-informed therapy to children, adolescents and adults. He also provides Sport Psychology services to athletes of all ages and counseling to children, teens, and families related to the diagnosis of diabetes. Dr. Davis earned his B.A. in Psychology from the College of Staten Island, his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and his Graduate Certificate in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. He also received extensive training in play therapy from the Play Therapy Institute. Dr. Davis completed his APA-Accredited Internship and Post-Doctoral training at the Institute for Living/Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Over the years, he has provided individual, family and group therapy for children, teens, and adults, in outpatient settings, schools, partial hospital programs, and both medical and psychiatric inpatient units. Dr. Davis has developed programming to address social skills, parent training, and coping skills. Further, he has worked on performance issues and mental skill building with NCAA Division I and III student-athletes as individuals, teams, mixed-sport groups, and also with coaches. Prior to starting private practice, Dr. Davis provided clinical services for adolescents and families in a New York State psychiatric inpatient unit. He provided CBT, and completed extensive and intensive training and supervision in DBT by Treatment Implementation Collaborative, LLC. Dr. Davis was the DBT leader for the children and youth programs, certified trainer for the NYS behavioral skill/crisis intervention program, and assistant team leader. Dr. Davis currently is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the New Jersey Psychological Association (NJPA), the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), and the ADA/APA Mental Health Provider Directory.
