How can I be of help? Maybe you can put the answer into words easily, or maybe you know only that something is not right. Whatever your situation, I invite you to come in and talk with me. I have had my doctorate for over 20 years and have worked with clients in a variety of settings. Together, we will try to understand what is going on and what might be helpful. Because the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of much of the work of therapy we'll also see if we work well together.
I provide psychotherapy for people who feel depressed or anxious, have problems with relationships, body image, food/eating, obsessions, compulsions, or have been traumatized. I also offer treatment for post-partum depression/anxiety and support for all moms adjusting to the joys and challenges of a baby. I offer individual, couple's, group and family therapy.
I have post-doctoral training in psychodynamic, object-relations, and attachment-oriented therapy. For OCD, panic, and phobias, I offer cognitive-behavioral treatment. Having conducted and published extensive research regarding different psychotherapeutic and drug treatments, I am well-qualified to help you figure out what will help. I collaborate with psychiatrists specializing in pregnancy, postpartum and women's mental health.
I am a member of Psypact, a multistate compact which allows authorized therapists licensed in one state (my home state is MD) to practice in a number of other states. In total, 26 states currently participate, but that number is increasing quickly, so if you'd be interested in working with me, whichever of the United States you call home, contact me and we'll see if that's possible through Psypact..
