Charles N. Zeitler III, Psy.D., CSAT
Dr. Zeitler is a clinical psychologist with a broad range of experience in treatment and evaluation of individuals with behavioral and emotional problems, with serious and persistent mental illness, couples in crisis, and with sexual addiction. Dr. Zeitler’s therapeutic orientation is as a Relational-Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist. This approach is based on the idea that mutually satisfying relationships with others are necessary for emotional well-being as well as on the idea that the way an individual thinks and feels affects the way one behaves. The focus is on problem solving, and the goal is to change clients' thought patterns and interpersonal dynamics.
Dr. Zeitler received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Washington, D.C. in 2010. He completed a Forensic Fellowship the following year. He served as a Forensic Psychologist conducting Competency to Stand Trial, and Criminal Responsibility Evaluations. He also conducts Violence Risk, and Risk for Sexual Violence Assessments. He has served as an Expert witness in District and Circuit Courts throughout Maryland. Dr. Zeitler also performs consultative examinations on applicants for Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income benefits.
Dr. Zeitler established his private practice in 2011 where he specializes in treating those effected by compulsive sexual behaviors to include the individuals with the sex addiction, injured partners, and couples. Dr. Zeitler earned his Certification in Sex Addiction Treatment through the International Institute of Trauma & Addiction Professionals in April 2016. He regularly lectures on Sexual Addiction. Dr. Zeitler is also the Director for the Addiction, Co-occurring Disorders, and Trauma Recovery Services at Springfield Hospital Center. He is a Nationally Registered Health Service Psychologist and has been providing telehealth services since 2011.
