I specialize in treating difficulties with anxiety, OCD, depression, mood regulation, & trauma in adults. I also treat couples/relationship issues, & sexual concerns. My theoretical orientation emphasizes mindfulness-based & cognitive therapies & integrates principles from contemporary psychodynamic/existential therapies. In my work I am inspired by the human potential for psychological flexibility, behavioral change, & greater self-understanding. My research in women's sexuality has informed my comfort with sexual concerns, while my studies in Buddhist philosophy strengthen my implementation of mindfulness-based therapies. A strong therapeutic relationship facilitates positive psychological growth. As a therapist, I strive to be compassionate and fully present, and work within the therapeutic relationship to help each person realize their potential to live a valued life with meaning and purpose, while making room for life's inevitable stressors and pain. I received my PhD from UVM and have practiced in a variety of settings including a large medical center and a community clinic. I am currently in private practice at Deerleap Psychotherapy in Bristol, VT. Please contact me by email to schedule an appointment.
