Camie Nitzel, PhD LP is a Licensed Psychologist and the founder of Kindred Psychology, an affirming and inclusive Counseling Psychology practice in Lincoln, NE. Dr. Nitzel uses an engaged and collaborative approach that integrates feminist-relational, interpersonal, shame-resilience, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic therapies (along with liberal doses of hope and humor). Psychotherapy specializations include working with the unique challenges faced by educators, medical providers, psychologists, therapists and other helping professionals. Dr. Nitzel also works with development related to gender identity, sexuality and sexual orientation. As part of her gender specialization, Dr. Nitzel provides WPATH-informed hormone and surgical evaluations for transgender and gender diverse individuals, serves on the NSAA’s Gender Identity Eligibility Committee, and collaborates with medical/ mental health providers, schools, and educators toward developing sensitive and culturally responsive environments that respect and affirm diverse gender identities.
