I am a licensed psychologist specializing in working with children, adolescents and young adults presenting with anxiety-based disorders. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Redlands, then continued on to earn a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University.
My APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship was completed with the Texas Child Study Center and Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, where I treated children, adolescents and families with a broad range of presenting emotional and behavioral concerns as well as coping with primary medical diagnoses. Throughout my training and postdoctoral fellowship, I also gained specific expertise treating a variety of issues, including generalized anxiety, specific phobias, social anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, depression, school refusal and behavioral disorders.
While I work primarily from a cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach, I am dedicated to integrating components of other evidence-based treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention (E/RP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) flexibly into my work for all clients. The approaches I use aim to empower individuals to increase their awareness and control over their thoughts and behaviors that contribute to their challenges.
For children and adolescents specifically, I recognize that their anxiety and behavior often affects the entire family, so I also enjoy working closely with caregivers and families. Within my work I also value consultation and collaboration with schools, physicians, psychiatrists and other treatment providers. My goal is to partner with you and your family to establish an individualized, evidenced-based treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
