I am passionate about helping people recover, grow, and reach their potential. I apply this passion clinically by providing both counseling and psychological assessments to a variety of populations including children (primarily assessment), adolescents, adults (specialized experience with college students), and couples. I enjoy working with people experiencing a wide range of psychological concerns, and have particular interests and expertise in treating issues related to trauma and loss, depression, anxiety, and marital and couple relationship issues. I also have training and an interest in exploring spiritual issues in counseling, particularly with Christians who are navigating mental health or relationship concerns. Further, I am able to provide psychological evaluations related to a variety of clinical and educational concerns including ADHD, learning disabilities, and intellectual disability, as well as provide pre-marital assessment/counseling and personality assessment. I am a licensed psychologist in Louisiana (#1488) with a specialty in counseling psychology and have earned degrees from Auburn University (B.A., psychology), Reformed Theological Seminary (M.A., marriage and family therapy and counseling; Jackson campus), and Louisiana Tech University (Ph.D., counseling psychology). I have clinical experience in diverse settings including outpatient clinics, private practice, a residential substance use treatment facility, and university counseling centers including the University of Tennessee (Doctoral Internship in Professional Psychology). My professional philosophy and style have been strongly influenced by positive psychology, psychodynamic, and emotion-focused approaches. As a result, I seek to build strong relationships with my clients and foster a safe and therapeutic environment in which individuals feel comfortable sharing personal thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
