I work with adults and adolescents with a range of issues precipitated by life stressors. Therapy aims to reduce impairment and improve everyday functioning. I am realistic in my approach and believe a strong therapeutic relationship is necessary for success. I prefer to speak initially over the phone (no charge) to ensure a proper fit and alignment of goals.
My practice is a blend of theories that are evidence based psychological treatments meant to foster new insight about ones current functioning and behaviors. These therapies, coupled with self-recognition will help you identify your strengths, in order to achieve greater self-acceptance, autonomy and fulfillment.
Self-care is a term used to describe different methods utilized to help one feel better. Therapy may seem unwarranted, unnecessary, or altogether unfamiliar. Just as our body needs physical exertion, our mind requires not only stimulation, but specific attention. Taking care of the body and mind ultimately leads to a healthier and more satisfying life. Psychotherapy naturally provides attention to the mind and fosters a place for further insight to grow.
