Dr. Lubin is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist. Along with private practice, Dr. Lubin has worked in the NYC independent schools, school-based mental health programs, alternative schools, and programs designed for students who need additional emotional and behavioral support. Her specialization is with children, adolescents, and families who are have language based learning disabilities and/or who are twice-exception (2E), meaning individuals who are gifted and also have learning, attentional, or emotional disabilities. She has experience providing individual and group counseling, testing and evaluations, and behavioral consultation for students in grades K through 12. Dr. Lubin’s theoretical approach is using a systems-level (looking holistically at how the home, school, and individual interact) lens to provide evidence-based, CBT- oriented, strategies and interventions. Dr. Lubin received her B.A. in psychology from American University and her Psy.D. in psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University. Her dissertation focused on academic self-regulation strategies, and her oral specialty was in school refusal.
