Dr. Melendez-Blanch is a Licensed Psychologist in the states of Florida and Oregon. She is the founder and owner of Movimentum Psychology LLC, a practice she founded with the intention to provide access, through non-conventional means, to those in need that otherwise would not have access to psychological services. Provides services in the languages of English and Spanish. She has always had embedded in her a passion and desire to help others in their difficult moments. Dr. Melendez achieved her Master’s and Doctor’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University, San Juan Campus, with honors. Completed her internship at APS Healthcare, providing services to clients of all ages, and working with a multidisciplinary group of professionals. From there, she moved to the West Coast to complete her post-doctoral training practicing behavioral health services in an integrated model in a primary care setting, working as a team member of a multidisciplinary team, with patients of all ages. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology, from Alliant University in San Diego, California. Dr. Melendez has vast experience treating adults and teens that are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress and comorbid conditions. Her experience also includes helping families presenting concerns and difficulties managing their children’s behavior. Dr. Melendez uses different approaches to treat her patients, that depends on her patient’s needs and personalities, and considers herself an eclectic. Many of her interventions come from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, that also include mindfulness and relaxation skills. Her goal is for her patients to grow, create resilience and learn skills and strategies that last for life, so they can cope with their stressors, move forward and live healthier lives, while they learn and understand how thoughts, behaviors and emotions are connected.
