Dr. Andrea Elkon is a licensed clinical and sports psychologist with nearly two decades of experience providing individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessment. Dr. Elkon also offers workplace wellness and performance optimization programs, including specialized workshops for leadership teams. She specializes in treating athletes and professionals, with the understanding that performance--in the workplace or on the field/court-- incorporates so much more than educational or physical training.
Dr. Elkon works with athletes who are struggling with anxiety, motivation, confidence, focus, or team dynamics. Additionally, she sees athletes after they have experienced some major event in their athletic lives; such as acute and chronic injuries, pain, illness, physical changes with aging, or retirement from sport. She also frequently works with athletes struggling with eating concerns and body image. In the professional sector, Dr. Elkon sees individuals who have worked hard their entire lives, only to feel "stuck," unhappy, or unsatisfied in their current place in life.
Dr. Elkon earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Haverford College, where she was a member of both the Women’s NCAA Division III Volleyball Team and the inaugural Women’s NCAA Division III Softball Team. Dr. Elkon earned her PhD and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia, with additional research and clinical training experiences at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of South Carolina. She has worked across a variety of settings in both the private and public sectors. She currently owns her own private practice in Atlanta, GA, which focuses on treating athletes and high-performing professionals.
