I am a licensed counseling psychologist. I work with families, couples, young adults and adults. I have over 20 years of experience with evidence-based family therapy. My approach to families, couples and individuals is strength-based and respect-based. This means appreciating that struggles we face as individuals and in relationships are not typically due to maliciousness but are part of the human struggle to do what we believe and feel is best for ourselves and our families--even if misguided. Unfortunately, we frequently misinterpret the intentions of others and experiences which impacts how we react--this can be changed and relationships can be repaired. I provide family, couples and individual therapy for adolescents, young adults and adults for relationship struggles, high conflict, substance use, and behavioral problems. I am strength-based with a focus on relationships and systems. I respect the culture, spirituality and structure of each unique family/couple. This includes both intact families and families experiencing divorce. I've worked throughout the U.S. and internationally. I've learned what's crucial is respecting the unique dynamics of each person and relationship. I've worked as a married mother, a divorced mother and a remarried mother. I appreciate how families and couples work to stay together and how they attempt a healthy separation as well as healthy blending of new family systems. I work to support parents attempting healthy (non-conflict) co-parenting and serve as a Parent Coordinator in our local courts. Healthy relationships in either marriage or divorce is my priority.
