I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. I also hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Villanova University. I completed my doctoral internship/residency at the Catholic University of America, and have also trained at the University of Maryland and the Maryland Psychotherapy Clinic and Research Lab. Beyond my experience as a therapist, I have professional experience as an educator, career counselor, higher education administrator, and writer. In these roles I have worked extensively with athletes, community leaders, students, and young professionals. I have a warm, collaborative style that integrates proven therapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic and interpersonal, acceptance and commitment (ACT), and other evidence-based treatments. I create an individualized treatment plan for each client to help you feel better quickly and make more meaningful change. I consider the relationship between therapist and client to be a key factor in what helps you to make positive changes in your life, as research shows that a strong therapeutic relationship can facilitate new insights about yourself, promote growth, and produce change.
