Dr. Block is the director of the Health Psychology Center in Oceanport, New Jersey. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies and works closely with physicians, educators and other specialists to provide comprehensive care for her patients. She especially loves working with anxiety issues across the spectrum of different diagnoses, from actual anxiety disorders to the types of anxiety that occur with acute and chronic illness, developmental issues in a family, family disruption, and life transitions. Dr. Block also directs the Psychosocial Curriculum at Monmouth Medical Center's Department of Medicine, a position in which she trains young physicians to better understand psychological disorders and to deal with their patients in the most empathic manner possible. Prior to receiving her Ph.D., Dr. Block worked in industry and continues to work with executives, coaching them in areas of leadership development, personal competency and communication skills.
