As a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst for more than 40 years, I have had the privilege to work with different populations on a great variety of issues. I've helped individuals, couples and families cope with their problems (depression, anxiety, grief, relationships, career, life transitions, etc.) to attain significant and durable transformations in their lives; they gained valuable insights into past experiences, became resilient in achieving their goals, and developed successful relationships. I provide a caring, warm, nonjudgmental environment that promotes trust and fosters the resolution of undesirable patterns of behavior, which in turn helps the patient become stronger, more confident. Most importantly, every person that works with me is treated as a unique individual who has a particular situation and needs. I am trained in clinical psychology and psychoanalysis. I am a psychoanalytic teacher and supervisor as well as author and past editor of a major psychoanalytic journal. My office offers a comfortable, private and secure environment and is located on the Upper East Side, near all public transportation.
