I am a licensed psychologist with nearly two decades of clinical experience, eleven of those as a psychologist. I became a psychologist because I love to join with people on their journey towards healing. I am female, cis-gender, and Caucasian, and I strive to be a culturally competent psychologist. I graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University with a speciality in complex trauma. I completed my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University Counseling Center at Georgia State University. I earned a Master’s degree in Agency Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, both from Gardner-Webb University. I have work experience in multiple university counseling centers, hospitals and large medical organizations, community mental health clinics, and private practice. I am a certified Diplomat in Lifestyle Medicine through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, which promotes health through lifestyle modifications such as fitness, nutrition, and stress management.
Maintaining a balanced life is important to me. Both my professional and personal roles are key aspects of my identity and contribute to my sense of meaning and purpose in life. Spending time with my friends and family, being in nature, and volunteering to serve my community, both locally and globally, bring me joy. I enjoy hiking, camping, rock climbing, scuba diving, traveling, cooking delicious plant-based meals, tending to my garden, and regular exercise to help me thrive. I was born in Decatur, raised in Florida, and returned to Atlanta for graduate school. I live with my husband, teenager, and our schnoodle, Gracie Bell.
